Original cartoon sketch entitled "Dare I eat a Peach?"

Black ink sketch on a 9" x 12" sheet. Signed on the lower right corner. With Koren's studio stamp on the reverse. Also with a Cavalier magazine stamp, with a pencil mark indicating that this cartoon appeared in this magazine in March of 1962. The image depicts two insects sitting in a tree, one on a leaf, the other atop a peach. The title is obviously a reference to Eliot's The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock.

Koren has long been associated with the The New Yorker magazine, where he has published over 1000 cartoons, as well as numerous covers and illustrations. He has also contributed to many other publications, and has illustrated numerous books. Koren's cartoons, drawings and prints have been widely exhibited in shows across the United States as well as in France, England and Czechoslovakia.
