9" x 5.5". 346pp. Paper covered boards with a gray cloth spine, in dust wrapper. Poor condition, with heavy soiling and wear. The jacket is worn and has no price on the flap (but the book does not appear to be a book club edition.) This copy signed and inscribed by the author on the first leaf: "For Noel and Mary with love, Jim. James Thurber." Everard Noel Rye Trentham worked in the British government, and upon his retirement he and his wife Mary moved to Bermuda where they became acquainted with the nearly blind Thurber. We acquired this book from Noel's grandson.
